November is a great time to care for the plants we recently put in the ground! Join us to care for the plants recently put in the ground and give them room to grow by removing invasive weeds like blackberry and ivy. You’ll learn about the vital role this green space plays in our community and get hands-on experience supporting a more resilient forest.


Let’s enjoy the crisp fall air, work together, and give our forest a healthy boost heading into winter!

What to Bring

No experience is necessary! Please bring clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, sturdy, closed-toed shoes, long sleeves, pants, a water bottle, and any questions or suggestions you may have! Restoration events happen rain or shine; check the weather and make sure to bring a rain jacket if needed. All other tools, training, and gloves will be provided.


¡No se necesita experiencia! Solo te recomendamos traer ropa que no te importe ensuciar, zapatos resistentes y cerrados, blusa o camisa de manga larga, pantalón, y una botella de agua reutilizable. Where to Meet

We will meet in the planting zone to the south of the parking lot in the northwest corner of the park, off Des Moines Memorial Drive. Look for a table with a sign-in sheet and a line of shovels or other tools on the ground.

Where to Park

Parking is available in the northwest corner of the park, off Des Moines Memorial Drive. Additional parking is available at Sunset Park, located at 13800 16th Ave S. Park in the parking lot or along the shoulder of 16th Ave S. and walk north to cross S. 136th Street. Look for event signage for assistance.
